UNESCO Youth Education Research Center in India

About CREGU

International youth education, research, and capacity-building with global institutional engagement.

The Centro Di Ricerca Sull‘Educazione Dei Giovani Per L'UNESCO (CREGU) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2005, dedicated to advancing youth education, research, and capacity-building at both local and global levels. The organization’s work is inspired by the values and principles of the UNESCO and aligned with the broader framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while operating as an independent institution.

CREGU actively promotes cultural, social, and development cooperation through interdisciplinary research, academic partnerships, and youth-focused initiatives. Since 2023, with institutional support from relevant departments in Shanghai, the organization has expanded its global presence through the establishment of its Shanghai Center Office, strengthening collaboration with universities and research institutions across Europe and Asia.

The Centre delivers cutting-edge training, research, and cultural programs, including over 46 youth-focused initiatives across multiple disciplines. It brings together an international network of experts from leading universities, global companies, and think tanks through its expert committees, research bodies, and youth training platforms. These efforts emphasize innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the exploration of new research methodologies to address emerging global challenges.

Role and Institutional Engagement

CREGU plays a strategic role in connecting grassroots operational experience with global policy dialogue. It facilitates engagement with Member States, UN partners, academic institutions, and civil society stakeholders by translating field-level insights into policy-relevant outputs such as briefings, research inputs, event concepts, and strategic communication materials tailored for multilateral platforms.

Through its work, the organization supports dialogue and collaboration across sectors, contributing to global conversations on education, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

India Chapter

The India Chapter of CREGU (UNESCO Youth Education Research Centre) is operationally facilitated by the Sustainable Development Council (SDC), which holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. This institutional alignment strengthens CREGU India’s engagement with international frameworks while enabling localized implementation of global development priorities.
